The name of this Wetherspoon pub recalls William Gladstone, the 19th-century prime minister and MP for Liverpool, who spent part of his childhood on Merseyside. In later life, he recollected: 'I have seen wild roses growing on the very ground which is now the centre of Bootle'.
This pub is located at the base of the Triad tower block. The 240-foot-high structure, which dominates the area, was designed by the Hind Woodhouse Partnership, and opened by Alderman Fred Pemberton Morris JP, Mayor of Bootle, on 26 May 1971.
This pub shows live Sky Sports and live ESPN Sports.
We also show live subtitled news (on silent) throughout the day.
