The White Lion of Mortimer was previously the long-standing Bucks Head, and became a Wetherspoon pub in 1990. The 'White Lion' originally featured in the coat of arms of the Mortimer family. It was later included in the royal arms of Edward VI, who inherited the 'White Lion' from his grandmother, Anne Mortimer.
