The Three Magnets

Letchworth was the first 'Garden City', inspired by the work of the urban planner Ebenezer Howard. He illustrated his idea for 'Garden Cities' with his famous three-magnets diagram, from which this Wetherspoon pub gets its name.

The site of this Wetherspoon pub was formerly Brooker's Store (selling furniture and hardware). It was designed and built as a shop (alongside the entrance to the arcade) as part of the town's expansion in the 1920s.
