This Wetherspoon pub is named after the author best known for her 'William' books. William Brown first appeared in a series of short stories, which were written in her spare time while Richmal was a teacher at Bromley High School for Girls. She lived in Bromley for 26 years, first in Cherry Orchard Road and later in nearby Oakley Road.
