This Wetherspoon pub is the former Myrtle cinema.
At one time Bingley had four cinemas: Gem Picture House, Hippodrome, Co-op Hall and the Myrtle cinema. The latter was the most recent, and perhaps the best remembered. It was built in 1921, on the site of the ancient Hoyle Croft - a grass-covered square overlooked by the backs of houses in Chapel Lane and Main Street. The Myrtle closed its doors to the cinema-going public in the late 1960s
We show live subtitled news (on silent) throughout the day.
