This Wetherspoon pub is named after the Metropolitan Railway, which was the world's first urban underground railway, and passes under Marylebone Road.
The company's house style was developed later, mainly by its own architect, Charles W Clark. His grandest scheme was for the reconstruction of Baker Street, which included a new company headquarters and Chiltern Court, a huge block of flats above the station. The work was begun in 1911, but was not completed until the late 1920s.
We show live subtitled news (on silent) throughout the day.
