The Groves Company Inn

The site of this Wetherspoon pub was occupied, in the late 19th century, by Groves and Company.

This pub occupies 22-23 Fleet Street. Number 22 is listed in a trade directory of 1896 as the premises of Groves and Company, Brewers, Wine and Spirit Merchants. Still there in 1948, the company was then recorded as John Groves and Sons, staying there until c1965. In the 1950s and 1960s, number 23 was a branch of Macfisheries.
