This J D Wetherspoon pub is named after the much-travelled artist Ford Madox Brown, a one-time resident of Victoria Park, a suburb south of the pub. Two of his most famous paintings, 'Work' and 'The Last of England', can be seen in Manchester City Art Gallery.
Wilmslow Park is a private hall of residence for over 1,300 students, with several retail units on the ground floor. In the second half of the 19th century, the Wilmslow Park site was occupied by Rusholme Hall and its grounds. This large, detached mansion was one of the many grand residences built in what was then the newly created, leafy suburb of Victoria Park.
