The Flagship J D Wetherspoon for Scotland. The Counting House is leading the way, having become the first Wetherspoon in the city to convert to a non-smoking public house.
The name of this Wetherspoon pub recalls its former use as a bank.
The premises were previously owned by the Bank of Scotland. The building was designed for the bank by J T Ruchead, between 1867 and 1870. His design, in the Italian Renaissance style, set the tone for the west end of George Square.
