Dubbed the Architect of Aberdeen, Archibald Simpson designed several important buildings in his native city. His masterpiece is the former bank, which is now this Wetherspoon pub which bears his name.
Archibald Simpson designed Marischal College (University of Aberdeen) and St Andrews Cathedral, both just a short walk from the site of this Wetherspoon pub.
