This Wetherspoon pub occupies the ground floor and cellar of Penderel House, named after Richard Penderel. At the end of the Civil War, in 1652, he helped King Charles II to escape from Cromwell's troops by hiding the royal fugitive in an oak tree on his country estate.
We show live subtitled news (on silent) throughout the day.
