Parking
Go to Gate 1, where security will direct you to the car park (this will vary for each show). There is usually a free bus which takes you to the Piazza’s main entrance (without the bus, it could be about a 10-minute walk).
Walk through the Piazza’s main entrance and up the stairs on either the left- or the right-hand side; the Wetherspoon pub is situated in the middle of that area (about 30–60 seconds’ walk from the main entrance).
The pub is located pretty much central to all five halls, about 60 seconds’ walk from each.
Situated eight miles southeast of Birmingham city centre, the NEC opened in February 1976. The first exhibition to be held was the International Spring Fair, for the giftware trade. Many of the top trade fairs now take place at the NEC, including Spring Fair Birmingham - the largest staged in the UK. The hundreds of acres now occupied by the NEC, as well as the adjacent Birmingham Airport site, were once covered by the Forest of Arden.
We show live subtitled news (on silent) throughout the day.
