Wetherspoon’s seven pubs in the Portsmouth area celebrate the recognition of their approach to responsible drinking.
Seven Wetherspoon pubs in the Portsmouth area have all been accredited in the town’s Best Bar None Awards 2010.
The outlets in the central Portsmouth, Fratton and Cosham districts were recognised by the scheme, at the third annual awards.
The pubs are The John Jacques, The Isambard Kingdom Brunel, The Sir John Baker, The Trafalgar and The White Swan (all in Portsmouth), as well as The First Post (Cosham) and Lloyds No.1 Bar (Port Solent).
Led by the Safer Portsmouth Partnership, Best Bar None rewards those ventures which can demonstrate efforts to ensure customer safety, prevent crime, public nuisance and the misuse of drugs and alcohol – all objectives under the Licensing Act.
The Portsmouth Best Bar None initiative aims to promote and encourage the responsible management of licensed premises, in order to reduce the risk of alcohol-related harm, crime and disorder across the area.
