Wetherspoon has been named as the only pub company among Britain’s Top Employers.
It is listed alongside 55 other companies, who “demonstrate the best in HR practice.” It is the seventh consecutive year that Wetherspoon has achieved the ‘Top Employers’ standard, which is based on strict methodology with companies marked on their pay and benefits, training and development, working conditions and company culture.
The overall weighted scores for Wetherspoon were as follows, with three considered good and five excellent.
It received five for pay and benefits, four-and-a- half for career development, four for company culture and three-and-a-half for both training and development and working conditions.
The Top Employers methodology has been developed by the CRF Institute, the independent organisation behind the Top Employers projects.
It states that the companies named among Britain’s Top Employers create the best working conditions for its staff.
Wetherspoon’s personnel and legal director, Su Cacioppo, said: “We are proud of the fact that the company is once again named as one of Britain’s Top Employers. The fact that Wetherspoon is the only pub company listed in the book, and that it is the seventh successive year it has featured, is an outstanding achievement.
"Wetherspoon employs more than 21,500 staff across the UK and this number will continue to increase in the coming years as we open more pubs. We are totally committed to being a top employer and offering our staff the chance to shine and develop within the company."
