The William Peverel, in Bulwell, celebrated its first birthday with a week-long programme of events to raise money for CLIC Sargent.
The pub, which opened in the Nottinghamshire town in September 2011, on the site of a former Wilkinsons hardware store, Co-op supermarket and originally the Picture Palace cinema, raised £500 from the activities.
Duty manager Ant Footitt was soaked in the medieval stocks, there was a quiz night, cake-bake sale and competition, birthday buffet and cake, hot-dog-eating contest, snail race and kids’ fun-day, including Pogo the clown.
