Wetherspoon’s chief executive, John Hutson, and its personnel and legal director, Su Cacioppo, visited CLIC Sargent’s Paul’s House, in London.
Close to University College London Hospital, Paul’s House is one of CLIC Sargent’s Home from Homes, providing free accommodation for families whose children are being treated at the hospital.
John Hutson said: “Wetherspoon is proud of its long-standing association with CLIC Sargent and the money raised by our staff and customers.
“Paul’s House is a wonderful facility, enabling parents and siblings to stay close to their loved-ones, avoiding the long journeys to and from the hospital each day".
Wetherspoon also pledged its support for CLIC Sargent’s Home from Home project in Northern Ireland.
It aims to raise £4 million to build two new Home from Homes, in Belfast.
All money raised by Wetherspoon’s customers and staff in its Northern Ireland pubs will go directly to the appeal – and this will be supported by funds from fund-raising in the company’s other pubs.
Sandra McGuigan, chair of CLIC Sargent’s Belfast Appeal Committee said: “Wetherspoon has been, and continues to be, a fantastic supporter of CLIC Sargent. I am delighted that the company is backing our Northern Ireland appeal.”
