Eighteen Wetherspoon pubs across Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire are to serve a selection of specially brewed beers during the Six Nations rugby tournament during February and March.
The six beers, representing each of the competing nations, are brewed by respected microbrewer Shardlow Brewery.
The beers are named after each of the nations and each will have a pump clip in the shape of a rugby ball, with the background showing the flag of that beer’s country.
The specially brewed beers are the brainchild of Daniel Chadaway, manager of The Moon and Bell, in Loughborough.
He said: “My pub has an excellent association with Shardlow. The brewery was delighted to brew the beers for the 18 Wetherspoon pubs, including my own.
“I am confident that customers will enjoy the superb choice of beers, not previously available in Wetherspoon pubs.”
Among the participating pubs are The Babington Arms (Derby), The Company Inn (Nottingham), The Twitchel Inn (Long Eaton) and The William Wygston (Wigston).
