Three Wetherspoon pubs in Swindon gained recognition in the Wiltshire town’s Best Bar None Awards 2010.
The Dockle Farmhouse and The Groves Company Inn were both accredited in the ‘pub’ category, while The Sir Daniel Arms was accredited in the ‘bar’ section, in the annual awards initiative.
This was Swindon’s second year of the Best Bar None awards, run by Wiltshire Police, together with the town’s licensed premises, and supported by Business Improvement District company In Swindon.
A total of 30 licensed premises entered the awards this year, with only 12 bars and pubs achieving the high standards expected, to gain accreditation to the scheme.
Paul Knott, pub manager at The Sir Daniel Arms, said: “The judges were tougher this year, with a surprisingly low number of premises receiving accreditation. We are really pleased to be among those who achieved the award.”
