Wetherspoon’s chairman Tim Martin has had a stray dog named after him, following a visit from a four-legged friend to one of his pubs.
Davey Rollins, pictured with duty manager Steph Banyer and Tim the dog, is a regular customer at The Ward Jackson, in Hartlepool.
When the dog came to the pub one day, on its own, it was clearly a stray and just followed the staff around.
Steph said: “The dog was adorable and no bother, causing no harm at all, but we couldn’t just let it wander around the pub.
“Davey decided to take it home, saying that, if the owner came in to claim the dog, just let him know and he would, of course, return it.
“A month went by and no one came in, so Davey is continuing to care for him, even taking him to the vet for a check-up.
“He also decided to call him Tim, as he was found in a Wetherspoon pub!”
