The pub, which cost £1.3 million to develop, has opened on the site of the one-time Picture Palace cinema.
The career of proud Bulwellian Denis Robinson, who spent 57 years as a reporter on the town’s local paper, The Hucknell and Bulwell Dispatch, is detailed in a display at the pub.
The highly respected and much admired journalist retired in January 2011, however, he still writes a weekly column for the newspaper.
