The Tilley Stone
Article date: 05 Feb 2012
Jena McTurk (pictured) has made the short journey from The Keel Row, in Newcastle, to manage The Tilley Stone, in Gateshead.
The pub has opened on the site of retail units which were the long-time premises of the Gateshead Industrial Co-Operative Society.
The pub’s name refers to the ‘Tilley’ and ‘Stone’ seams which were worked at Dunston Colliery – once a village by the Tyne, but now part of Gateshead.
