The Shay Wake

Manager Duncan Riding is pictured at The Shay Wake, in Shaw.
The pub is built on the site of a former shopping centre and its name refers to the Wakes holidays, traditionally started on the first Saturday after August 13 in the former mill town.
The main entrance ceiling feature lists cotton mills from the area and the design inspiration for the pub is taken from cotton mills machinery and equipment.
The pub also features a sculpture from salvaged parts from defunct cotton mills, by artist Richard ‘Arabus’ Dawson.
