Pub manager Dave Jenkins is pictured at The Lister Arms, in Ilkley.

The pub opened on the site of a former bar in The Moors Shopping Centre.

It features one bar and specialises in real ales, serving a wide range of beers, including those from local and regional brewers.

During the 19th century, the town developed into a health resort. A visitors’ guide of 1829 listed six boarding houses and three inns, among them The Lister Arms, which was almost within touching distance of the site of the new pub.

It was originally called The New Inn, but became known as The Lister Arms after its first tenant, John Lister. The pub was sold in 1989 and converted into apartments.
