Manager Leanne Surtees is pictured at The Five Swans, in Newcastle’s city centre.
The pub has been developed on the site of several empty properties, including a bar, bank and music shop.
It features a beer garden to the front and rear of the pub.
The pub’s name refers to a sculpture in Newcastle Civic Centre, opposite the pub – Swans in Flight.
The five swans rising from the pool of water ‘reflect the city’s long-established links with Scandinavia’. Each of the five countries (Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden) is represented by a wild swan.
