A former post office in Leominster has opened as The Duke’s Head.

It is managed by Terry Halls (pictured).

The former post office closed in March 2006, having served Leominster for almost 100 years. Before the Tudor-style premises were built, there was a small building on the front part of the site.

In the mid 1850s, it was the premises of dressmaker Ann Lloyd, later occupied by Susannah Knill. She was the widow of the innkeeper of the Duke’s Head Inn, located just a few feet away.

The pub has a pavement-café-style area to the front and features a mural, depicting the history of the post office, as well as an original stamp machine.
