Former West Bromwich Albion favourite Bob Taylor is pictured with manager Simon Taylor (third, right) and staff at the opening of The Court of Requests, Oldbury.
The pub is a grade II listed building, built in 1816. The original premises included a gaol, with cells for male and female prisoners, and was known as a court of requests.
The design of the pub’s individual rooms has been inspired by the building’s previous uses, including that as a library, cells, court room and dining room.
An original cell door has been incorporated, as well as the prisoners’ exercise-yard pavers, as a walkway in the beer garden.
