Pub manager Stephen Reynolds is pictured at Wetherspoon’s new pub in Hawick, Scotland.

The Bourtree has been built on the site of the Border town’s former Conservative Club.

The pub’s name refers to the bourtrees, or elder trees, which stood in Bourtree Place and gave the street (in which the pub is located) its name.

The pub has a beer garden and also features local history artwork.
