The Blackwater Stream
Article date: 21 Mar 2011
Pub manager Alex Crisp is pictured at The Blackwater Stream, in Broadstone.
The pub’s name refers to the stream which originally flowed across West Heath, a sparsely populated area crossed by the stage coach route which followed the line of Lower Blandford Road, where the pub is sited.
In 1840, large broad stones, said to have given the area its name, were laid across the Blackwater Stream.
