Three Wetherspoon pubs in Doncaster joined forces with others in the town to promote cask and real ale.

The Old Angel was the launch venue for the ‘Donny Ale Trail’, which included a dozen pubs on the real-ale route through the South Yorkshire town.

The other Wetherspoon outlets taking part, with a T-shirt the reward for a pint in each of the 12 participating pubs, were The Red Lion and The Gate House.

Joe Sanderson said: “A dozen landlords and pub managers worked together on the grassroots project, helping to promote real ale in Doncaster.”
