Staff at George Hotel, in Bewdley, teamed up with members from their local Royal British Legion branch, to raise money for charity.
This year’s ‘Pirates of the Severn’ event saw the crews take to their two- and three-man canoes, to paddle down the river Severn, in aid of the Royal British Legion and CLIC Sargent.
The fund-raisers were dressed as kings and queens, in honour of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
The event started from George Hotel; the team travelled to Arley by Severn Valley steam train and canoed from Arley back to Bewdley on the river, before a ‘royal bash’ at Bewdley Rowing Club, with live music, a barbecue and a hog roast, as well as a tombola and auction.
Laurence Goodwin, duty manager at George Hotel and co-organiser with fund-raiser Keith Thompson, said: “Once again, the event was a huge success. Thank you to everyone who took part and donated so generously, to help to raise the funds.”
