Newcastle United legend Malcolm Macdonald, pictured with staff and customers at The Fire Station, in Whitley Bay, helped boost the charity coffers by £600, during a fundraising fun-day.
The former striker, known as Supermac, hosted a sports evening with chat and a question-and-answer session, as well as a charity sports auction.
During the day, the pub staged raffles and a bake sale. There were craft stalls and also two bikes, kindly donated by Halfords, up for grabs in a peddle-oneminute challenge.
A children’s entertainer also provided face-painting, glitter tattoos and balloon modelling for the youngsters.
