A group of 120 walkers took part in an eight-mile sponsored walk from Waggon and Horses, in Alfreton.

The event raised money for a local community ‘Party in the Park’ carnival, run by volunteers, which takes place annually in the Derbyshire town.

Pub manager Simon Flitter, shift managers Terri Wolverson and Vicki Poole, team leader Keegan Lickiss and bar associates Damon Watson and Tracey Davis joined customers and local residents in the walk to Ashover.

The fund-raiser raised £2,000 for Party in the Park, £800 for various local charities and £250 for CLIC Sargent.

The Party in the Park event takes place on 2 September, in Alfreton Park, with a fun fair, gymnastic displays, live music and children’s entertainment.
