Regulars at The Flying Standard enjoyed a double treat, at the monthly meet-the-brewer night.

Staged on the first Monday of each month, the Coventry pub showcased two local breweries, instead of the usual one, to coincide with the Wetherspoon beer festival’s conclusion.

Representatives from Purity Brewing Co, in Great Alne, Warwickshire, and Silhill Brewery, in Solihull, presented two ales each from their collection.

Customers could sample Purity’s Mad Goose (4.2% ABV) zesty pale ale and Pure UBU (4.5% ABV), a distinctive premium amber-coloured beer. Silhill Brewery offered its two ales 3.7 per cent, a premium session ale, and 4.0 per cent, a pale ale.
