School art adds local colour

As has now become tradition for new Wetherspoon hotels, pupils at the nearby school were invited to produce artwork to decorate the hotel’s bedrooms and hallway walls.
Eight- and nine-year-old pupils, from the local Cathedral C of E Primary School, submitted almost 100 pictures. A selection of 60 of these is now framed and on display in the 32 bedrooms and several corridors.
The pictures, using a variety of media (including paint, print, collage and dyed fabrics), are strong and colourful depictions of views of historical interest in the North Yorkshire town.
