The Kentish Drovers has been voted ‘pub of the month’ by Southeast London CAMRA branch.
The local Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) members named the Peckham pub as its choice for February 2012.
The pub has been managed by Rob Tokarski (pictured second right with customers) since February 2009 and, during that period, has earned an excellent reputation for the quality and selection of beers.
These include the pub’s signature cask ale Jamaica Stout, from the Weltons Brewery. Southeast London
CAMRA’s branch chair, Alan Jepson (pictured far left), praised the pub at the launch of the branch’s Community Pubs Month campaign. He said: “There is one pub which stands out as an oasis, in an area which is very much a real-ale desert, namely The Kentish Drovers.
“The pub attracts a cross-section of people, including a large Afro-Caribbean following, and is at the heart of the community in Peckham.”
Rob, now at The Fox on the Hill in Denmark Hill, said: “I am delighted with the award and proud that The Kentish Drovers has been recognised for its real ales.
“We always serve Fuller’s London Pride, Greene King Abbot Ale and Ruddles, as well as regular guest beers, including the extremely popular Jamaica Stout and Old Speckled Hen.”
