Following the launch of a new beer, at The Britannia Inn, a Devon brewery has donated money to the care of ex-service personnel.
Plymouth’s Summerskills Brewery launched a new ale in January 2011, called Blondie, at Paula Wilson’s (pictured) pub in the town.
Now, with donations amassed from every firkin and bottle of Blondie sold for a whole year, the funds handed over to Hasler Company, Royal Marines, totalled £1,000.
Hasler Company, Royal Marines, is a special remedial company situated in HMS Drake at Her Majesty’s Naval Base Devonport. It was set up to help both physically and mentally injured service men and women and is named after Second World War Royal Marine Col Blondie Hasler of Cockleshell Hero’s fame.
