The Resolution, in Middlesbrough, has been recognised for its good working practices, at the fourth annual Best Bar None awards in the town.

The pub was one of just 16 venues to meet the high standards required by the scheme and was awarded Best Bar None 2011/2012 accreditation.

In addition, The Resolution was also named runner-up in the town centre pub category.

The Best Bar None scheme, run by Middlesbrough Council, assesses bars and clubs on how well they are run, including how they deal with issues such as preventing crime and disorder and public nuisance, promoting public safety and protecting children from harm.

Barry Coppinger, the council’s executive councillor for community protection, told the Evening Gazette newspaper: “Credit goes to all those who have taken up the challenge and tackle the problems associated with alcohol misuse. Without the commitment of the licensed trade this would not be possible.”

Pub manager Danny McClusky-Haugh, pictured second right with some of his team (left to right) Lee Rankin, Noc Hill and Mark Frankland, said: “We are all delighted that our hard work has been recognised by an accreditation and a runners-up award for 2011/2012.”
