Pub manager Vicki McNair is a keen supporter of the pubwatch initiative and believes that her local scheme is one of the best in the land.
Vicki, who has managed The Exchange in Banbury since October 2010 is a member of the steering group for her local pubwatch, in the Oxfordshire town.
The group, a voluntary organisation, comprising 10 Banbury licensees, meets once a month. Every four months, up to 20 representatives meet, from each of the pubs, bars and nightclubs in the town.
Vicki, who forms part of the Banbury pubwatch appeals process, said: “I have been at The Exchange for four years, with all four as an active member of the pubwatch scheme.Having previously worked at pubs in other towns, I can say that Banbury’s set-up is definitely one of the best.
“We have close links with our local police, from Thames Valley, and everyone involved is extremely ‘hands on’ in their approach."
The pubs operate a radio system, to keep in contact at night time, and also have a direct link to the CCTV hub in the town centre.
