A charity day at The Sir William de Wessyngton marked the launch of the April beer festival.

A market-themed day in the Washington outlet saw local traders selling products on stalls inside the pub, including arts and crafts, speciality breads, cakes, jewellery and sweets.

Representatives from five breweries were also there for a meet-the-brewers event. Maxim, Houston, Black Paw, Sonnet and Yard of Ale Breweries were all at the pub.

A tombola and raffles also raised funds, with the £278 proceeds from the day going to CLIC Sargent and local children’s charity Starlight.
