The Robert Ransome, in Ipswich, scooped the two top awards in the Suffolk town’s Best Bar None scheme.
It was crowned Best Town Centre Pub and also Overall Winner, in the Ipswich Best Bar None 2010/11 awards.
Judges picked the pub from more than 20 Ipswich pubs, bars and clubs which had been accredited by Best Bar None.
In order to gain accreditation, The Robert Ransome (and each of the other licensed premises) had to fulfil 28 essential criteria, to show that they are promoting safe and responsible drinking.
The pub’s manager, Ian Andrews, said: “To be judged Best Town Centre Pub is fantastic; however, for the pub to be named Overall Winner is phenomenal.
“Providing customers with a safe pub to visit and staff with a safe pub in which to work are top priorities for us.”
