The Joseph Bramah was named as winner in the Barnsley Civic Trust shop awards 2012.

The pub was voted first in the ‘public house’ category, one of 20 categories in the South Yorkshire towns award scheme, run by Barnsley Civic Trust and the Barnsley Chronicle newspaper.

The Barnsley Civic Trust works with local partners to deliver an award, for town-centre shops and businesses, recognising business skills, innovation, architectural design and the impact of window displays on the street scene.

Ben Paul Dixon, pub manager at The Joseph Bramah, said: “There are numerous pubs in the town, and we are delighted that the Barnsley Civic Trust judged us as the best.”

Pictured showing off the award (left to right) are shift leaders Lee Adaway and Rob Dunkley, kitchen manager June McMurdo and kitchen shift leader Sharon Roberts.
