Pub earns 'best bar' award

The pub was voted the winner in the ‘best bar’ category, in the fi fth annual Carlisle and Eden Best Bar None awards. The William Rufus also gained accreditation.

The Best Bar None accreditation and awards scheme focuses on safety and customer care, as well as helping to raise standards in the licensed trade.

The scheme is operated under the Carlisle and Eden Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership (CDRP) and Carlisle and Eden District Council Licensing Officers, all working in partnership with the licensed trade.

The awards seek to establish a standard of excellence in the area’s pubs, clubs and bars.

Matt said: “We are absolutely delighted to have been named as the winner in the bar category, ahead of some good competition in Carlisle.

“The award highlights our hard work and commitment to providing a safe environment for our staff to work in and for our customers to enjoy.”
