Pub manager Kim Newstead has been immortalised in oil on canvas at her pub in Weymouth.

Kim, who runs The Swan, in the Dorset seaside town, was presented with a portrait painting at the pub by local artist John Lee, to celebrate a company achievement award.

The picture, which is on display at the pub, shows Kim and her husband Stephen (who runs The William Henry, in the same town) outside The Swan.

John, who has several other works of art of Weymouth on permanent display at the pub, said: “When I heard that Kim was winning a ‘lifetime achievement award’ from Wetherspoon, I thought that an oil painting of her at the pub would be a fitting gift and was so glad that she likes it."

Kim, who has been with the company for 15 years and has managed her award-winning pub for the past 10 years, added: “It is a lovely painting, very flattering of me and I am extremely proud of it.”
