An exhibition of Swansea pottery and live pottery demonstrations marked the reopening of The Potters Wheel, in Swansea, following a £250,000 refurbishment project.
The pub, the first Wetherspoon outlet to open in Wales, sits on the site of the former Cambrian Pottery.
Representatives from Swansea Council, The Right Worshipful The Lord Mayor of the City & County of Swansea, Councillor Ioan Richard, together with players from Swansea City Football Club and Ospreys Rugby, were present at the opening.
In addition, Welsh brewers The Felinfoel Brewing Company, Brecon Brewing and Newmans Brewery, as well as Penderyn Distillery, were also represented.
The work to the pub included a full internal redecoration and new furniture, major remodelling of the back bar, new lighting throughout (including refurbishment of the original chandeliers) and refurbishment of the gents and ladies’ toilets.
Pub manager Calum Brennan (pictured) said: “The reopening celebrations were a great success – and our customers love the new-look pub.”
An additional 20 jobs were created at The Potters Wheel.
