The Robert Peel in Bury has been named as Rochdale, Oldham and Bury CAMRA branch, cider pub of the year 2012.

Pub duty manager Rob Burgess is pictured, with (left to right) branch cider co-ordinator Mike Robinson and branch members Alex Koval and Jim Hastings.

Rob said: “This award is great recognition for the pub and we are all delighted to have won the title.”

The Robert Peel was one of six pubs in the area under consideration for the branch cider pub of the year, included in the other five was The Regal Moon, in Rochdale.

The Rochdale, Oldham and Bury CAMRA website said: “The award is given to the pub that best encourages and promotes the sale of traditional cider and perry throughout the year.

“The Robert Peel is well worth a visit since it has four hand-pumps dedicated to cider and perry with an additional two ciders often on sale from behind the bar.”
