The Old Angel, in Doncaster, marked the arrival of the Olympic torch with an ‘Olympic day’ fund-raiser – raising £300.
The pub teamed up with local radio station Hallam FM to stage the fund-raising day, in aid of two charities: CLIC Sargent and Hallam FM Cash for Kids appeal.
Members of staff took part in a 12-hour treadmill/rowing machine event for the charities.
The fun-day also included face-painting, raffles, a hot-dog-eating competition and bake sales.
The pub’s manager, Joe Sanderson (pictured on the treadmill), with bar associate, Emma Walker, said: “This was an historic moment for Doncaster and a wonderful moment for the pub, as it was on the route of the torchbearer.
“We wanted to celebrate this special event and also raise lots of money for charity.”
