The ever-popular British beef & Abbot Ale pie, served in Wetherspoon pubs, has been voted the winner of the competition to find ‘England’s best steak pie’.
The pie has been a feature of our pubs’ menus for the past five years, with hundreds of thousands enjoying it annually.
It is produced exclusively for Wetherspoon’s pubs by Northamptonshire-based pie-makers Dunkley’s.
Made from tender chunks of quality-assured beef in a rich ale gravy, with crisp puff pastry, Dunkley’s British beef & Abbot Ale pie is now officially the best in England.
The competition to find ‘England’s best steak pie’ is organised by EBLEX, the organisation for beef and lamb levy-payers in England – a division of the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board.
It was presented at the prestigious Meat Management Awards, in London.
