The Nightjar has been recognised for its floral displays, in the annual Ferndown in Bloom competition.
The contest, run by local garden centre Haskins, named the pub as runner-up in the ‘best business, retail, commercial or public house’ category.
Other categories included ‘best front garden’ and ‘best park home garden or patio’, with prizes also awarded for ‘best first-time entrant’ and ‘tallest sunflower’.
The aim of the event is to create beautiful gardens and outside spaces, encouraging a sense of community pride and recognising those who have contributed to the beauty of Ferndown.
Independent judges judge all entries for their visual impact, kerb appeal, creativity and contribution to the overall colour and beauty of the area.
Pub manager Selina Parker said: “We are delighted to achieve the runner-up spot and will be aiming to go one better next year.”
Shift manager Dave Gold and team leader Nicole Smith proudly show off the certificate.
