Michael Davey, who will celebrate 11 years with Wetherspoon in May, has come full circle in his career with Wetherspoon, returning as manager of The Furness Railway, in Barrow-in-Furness, the pub where he’d begun his career as a bar associate.
When the opportunity to manage his home-town pub came up, he jumped at the chance to return.
He said: “I didn’t think that The Furness Railway would become available, as it has a history of long-serving managers, but, when it did, I snapped it up.”
