The Conservative MP worked a one hour shift at the busy pub as part of an initiative encouraging MPs to learn more about the challenges facing pubs in their
respective constituencies.

After completing the shift, Mr Harrington visited Wetherspoon’s head offi ce in the town and met with the company’s head of corporate affairs, Caroline Walters and chatted with other staff.

Mr Harrington said: “I was delighted to spend time in The Moon under Water pub as part of the initiative.

“I really enjoyed doing my shift and hope the people that I served were happy with the pints I pulled for them.

“I was interested to learn more about the trade and how pubs in Watford are faring, as I know they are an important part of the local economy.”

The Moon under Water manager, Kwame Tefe, said: “I enjoyed meeting with Mr Harrington and delighted that he chose my pub for his shift behind the bar.”
